Building upon the partnership developed in a previous building, Athertyn 2000 combined structural steel support posts with knife and base plates within our prefabricated wall panel. This collaboration reduced the amount of field labor by reducing the quantity of field panel distribution beam to structural steel connections. Utilization of BIM (Revit) allowed this integration to occur by aligning the various subcontractors’ models. Additionally, by incorporating Ecospan’s slab perimeter pour stop on top of our panel during panel fabrication we reduced field installation of both the pour stop and sheathing in-fill at floor lines. This 84,600 SF project featured both 6” and 4” panelized structural walls with distribution HSS (Hollow Structural Sections) tubes.
